Food ranges from inexpensive and traditional dishes like tacos, burgers, omelets, to seafood entrees which can be a bit more extensive. For the price of some of the dishes, I'm not blow away like I'd expect, but ignoring that very tasty. Location is the definition of picturesque, right in the middle of the Hope Ranch area on one of the most scenic beaches in Santa Barbara. A favorite of mine to take visitors or impress a lady. Especially on that last one because it also doubles as a pretty well-stocked and lively, albeit pricey, bar.

This used to be a great place to take my family out for dinner. Last night was the last time I will ever go there again. I was threatened by one of the new type of patrons they seem to now attract because this fool accused me of harassing his girlfriend. I am old enough to be his girlfriend's grandfather and I certainly have no attraction to tattood lowlifes like that bunch. They were disgusting in every way. The management of the restaurant did nothing when I complained about being threatened by these dirtbag drunks. I was told that they cannot choose who comes into their establishment. My and my families overpriced meal was ruined by that experience. I have called and emailed the owner Adam White on numerous occasions and he has ignored every attempt to reach him. They deserve to be put out of business.

I have been several times. I read the reviews first. Thought maybe not. I have never experienced poor service, long wait or any other issues. I'm good to go any time. Location is the best! You can't please all.

My wife, Uncle and myself went Saturday around 12:30 on a overcast day. Place was not full but the young lady sitting us made us feel that getting a booth was unusual by saying the other booths were reserved. We all ordered coffee. No spoons on the table. That took about 5 minutes to get. When we ordered our food, 2 of the breakfast's came with biscuits. No butter on the table. Asked the busboy for butter. That took 5 minutes...when he came back he put 5 pats of butter on a plate and asked my wife, 'is this good enough?' in kind of a snarky I need to catch a wave first attituded. The food was good, nothing remarkable. Over priced for an omlette...$12. There's 15 places on State street that can beat that price -I don't mind paying for it if its justified. We use to love The Brown Pelican as the service was always top notch. The service here was from young kids who don't care. I would rather spend the $$$ and go to the buffet at the Biltmore or The Monticeto Inn...no comparison. Hard to believe the owners of this new endeavor don't have a clue about the staff. No spoons? No butter. Wake up...plenty of other choices and we don't mind spending the bucks. It's Santa Barabara remember.

Only ate dinner once at the new Boathouse. Nice remodel, same gorgeous view as old restaurant. Place was PACKED on a Tuesday night--waited about 1 1/4 hours. The food was delicious/disappointing but the latter may have been because they're just getting on their feet. Clam chowder was the best restaurant chowder ever, tomato bisque, grilled yellowtail, blue cheese dressing, shrimp with parmesan all very good. Shrimp cocktail, margarita, mojito all mediocre. First grilled artichoke inedible, replacement at least could tear the leaves off, but was like leather. Still, I'll give them another chance, maybe arrive well before 7.
